One day before that other company is expected to announce its latest tablets, Google's lifting the thinly veiled curtain that covered the Nexus 9. As the name suggests, this HTC-made tablet comes in at 8.9 inches at a 4:3 aspect ratio (as opposed to the Nexus 7, which used 16:9); it'll also feature Android 5.0 Lollipop, the latest version of Google's mobile OS. The new slate will be available starting at $399 and can be pre-ordered on October 17th, but you'll be able to get it in stores on November 3rd. The Nexus 9 comes complete with HTC's signature BoomSound stereo speakers, a 6,700mAh battery, a dual-core 2.3GHz NVIDIA K1 chipset with 64-bit support and 2GB RAM. There will be multiple models offered, starting with 16GB and 32GB WiFi options (the latter of which is $479) and a $599 32GB cellular variant that offers LTE, pentaband HSPA+, quad-band GSM/EDGE and CDMA. Finally, the new Nexus also comes with an 8MP rear-facing autofocus BSI camera with f/2.4 aperture and LED flash, as well as a 1.6MP front-facing cam.
